UPCOMING WORKSHOP

A Gentle Invitation: Sensory Garden Workshop — Booking Now Open

Sunday 26th April • 10:30am–1:30pm Gwehelog Village Hall, Usk Introductory cost: £55

Hello lovely dog guardians and professionals,

I’m delighted to share that the first Sensory Garden Workshop for Dogs is now taking shape - a calm, hands‑on morning designed to help you create a comfort‑led, emotionally supportive space for your dog at home.

This will be a small, intimate workshop held on:

📅 Sunday 26th April 🕥 10:30am–1:30pm 📍 Gwehelog Village Hall, Usk 💚 Introductory cost: £55

What We’ll Explore Together

This workshop is rooted in gentleness, curiosity, and emotional safety. Across our time together, we’ll explore:

  • how to design a simple comfort corner your dog can truly relax into

  • the emotional role of plants in supporting canine wellbeing

  • how to choose and grow herbs that soothe, regulate, and offer meaningful choice

  • a guided blind herb‑tasting session — you’ll sample five calming botanicals as warm teas, just as your dog might self‑select them

  • practical steps to begin your own sensory garden, no matter the size of your space

Every attendee will also receive a beautifully crafted ebook to support your journey long after the workshop ends.

The Herb Tasting

One of the most special parts of the morning will be our blind tasting session. You’ll explore each herb through scent, taste, texture, and how it makes your body feel — a simple, powerful way to understand how dogs use plants to regulate their emotions and nervous systems.

It’s always a moment of quiet insight and connection.

Who This Workshop Is For

This is perfect for you if you’re curious about:

  • Supporting your dog’s emotional wellbeing

  • Creating a calmer home environment

  • Using plants in a gentle, ethical, choice‑led way

  • Deepening your connection with your dog through nature

  • Owners of Secure Dog Fields

  • Guardians of reactive dogs – who want to offer emotional regulation to their dogs

No gardening experience needed — just a willingness to slow down and observe.

Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ)

Classroom Training Course

Learn essential First Aid for your Dog so you are ready to help them no matter what situation they get into. Perfect for pet owners and professionals.

We train in human first aid and CPR without thinking, but we do not learn how to adapt these skills to our dogs - why?

I have been teaching canine first aid since 2018 and my students have found it invaluable. You will learn lifesaving skills plus much more, that in the interim of a vet's help can help your dog when in pain or discomfort, and even save your dog’s life!

During my workshops I talk about prevention, just as much as what to do in an emergency. Dog first aid is so much more than CPR, knowing how to perform the canine Heimlich manoeuvre etc. It is also about avoiding avoidable problems, and situations, recognising risks and risk assessment management, plus appropriate dog walking etiquette. It's learning and understanding how NOT to put your dog (and yourself at risk).

Do you walk your dog off lead near a cliffs edge?
Have you thought about what your dog can see?
Has it crossed your mind - that your dog doesn't know that there is a steep drop?
Off they run. Many dogs have lost their lives due to our lack of understanding of what they can and cannot see etc. Do not let your dog be one of them.

Think of the risks, understand them and take action - for the love of your dog.
Do you know what Alabama Rot is?
Do you know what Blue Green Algae is?
How about Secondary Drowning?
Does your dog suffer with Seizures?
Do you think you could recognise pain in your dog? Yes? It may surprise you... Plus, so much more!

This workshop is accredited L2 VTQ and upon completion of the course you will receive your CPD certificate and wallet card in the post. Plus a downloadable student manual, and weekly refresher videos emailed to you of a different skill each week.
