Canine Botanicals

What to Expect During a Canine Botanical Session

Each Canine Botanical Session is tailored to your dog’s individual needs honouring their comfort, autonomy, and emotional wellbeing.

Before your appointment, you’ll receive a pre-consultation form to complete. This helps us understand your dog’s health history, current wellbeing, and any emotional or behavioural shifts. Using this information, the practitioner will create a personalised selection of hydrosols, essential oils, and herbs - chosen to support your dog’s physical and emotional needs.

During the session, these botanicals are gently presented to your dog, allowing them to engage through self-selection. You may notice them sniffing, pausing, or returning to certain remedies—each response is meaningful. Your dog leads the way, choosing what they need for comfort, balance, or healing.

This process supports everything from seasonal transitions to emotional shifts, offering a sensory-rich experience that honours your dog’s inner wisdom.

🌿 What Botanicals Can Support

Botanical remedies offer gentle, holistic support across a wide range of physical and emotional concerns. Each plant carries its own therapeutic properties, and through self-selection, your dog intuitively chooses what they need most.

Some of the areas botanicals may help with include:

  • Skin Conditions - Soothing herbs and hydrosols can support healing from itchiness, dryness, hotspots, or sensitivities — gently calming inflammation and promoting skin resilience.

  • Emotional Trauma & Anxiety - Essential oils like neroli, frankincense, or rose may help release emotional tension, support nervous system regulation, and offer comfort during times of grief, fear, or change.

  • Digestive Imbalance (including IBS) - Botanicals such as fennel, chamomile, or peppermint may ease digestive discomfort, reduce bloating, and support gut-brain harmony.

  • Seasonal Transitions - Whether it’s shedding, allergies, or shifts in energy, seasonal botanicals can help your dog adapt with greater ease and balance.

  • Ageing & Mobility Gentle - anti-inflammatory herbs and oils may support joint comfort, circulation, and overall vitality in older dogs.

  • Sensory Overload or Shutdown - For dogs who are easily overwhelmed or shut down, botanicals can offer grounding, clarity, and emotional spaciousness.

Each session is guided by your dog’s responses — not by diagnosis or protocol — allowing for a truly individualised experience that respects their autonomy and emotional truth.
